We asked ChatGPT for the best dentist in Surco, Lima: what the 5 it recommended have in common

People no longer search only on Google: they also ask ChatGPT where to go. That is why we started a series of experiments with businesses in Lima, Peru. The first one is a dental practice in Santiago de Surco.

The question

On November 7, 2026 we opened ChatGPT without signing in and typed, in Spanish: «¿Cuál es el mejor dentista en Surco, Lima?» (What is the best dentist in Surco, Lima?)

What it answered

ChatGPT said it had found "several clinics with excellent ratings and a considerable number of patient reviews" and recommended these five:

ClinicRatingReviews
Centro Dental Dentalindo4.9/5299
Sonrisa Segura Surco4.9/5601
Clínica Dental Alemana4.9/5567
IDent Centro Dental4.9/5235
Dental Healthy Smile5.0/5201

Its first recommendation was Dentalindo or Sonrisa Segura Surco, "depending on the type of treatment you need". At the end it noted that the ratings and review counts come from "public listings consulted" and may change. (The answer was in Spanish; the quotes are our translation.)

The 5 clinics ChatGPT recommended have 4.9 stars or more and over 200 reviews

What they have in common

  • All five have 4.9 stars or more. None goes below that.
  • All five have more than 200 reviews. The one with the fewest has 201; the one with the most, 601.
  • For each one it showed the address, services and phone number. That is the information on its public listing.

No clinic with only a few reviews showed up in this answer. That doesn't prove how ChatGPT chooses, but it does show what the clinics it chose had in common.

What a dental practice (or any local business) can do today

  1. Ask every patient for a Google review. The best moment is right after the appointment, with your listing's link ready to send on WhatsApp.
  2. Reply to every review, good and bad.
  3. Check your listing: make sure the address, phone number and services are complete and written the same way as on your website.
  4. Do it every week. It isn't a campaign, it's a habit.

Watch the experiment

We tell it in 35 seconds, in Spanish, on YouTube and TikTok.
